What our clients had to say…

“I have worked with a number of agencies of various sizes and have to say that Hallam really do pack a mighty punch. They take time to learn and understand the business, our objectives and size of opportunity before putting realistic proposals together that we can easily digest and deliver against. Highly recommended.” – Garrick Abrahamson, Antalis

“We’ve worked with Hallam for a number of years now and they always go above and beyond! They’ve really become an extension of our in-house marketing team which is exactly the relationship we want with an agency.” – Caroline Cudworth, Rayburn Tours

“The team at Hallam embody the ideal client-agency relationship: they have become a natural extended part of our marketing team and work brilliantly with the whole marketing team sharing best practice, expertise and (gently) challenging us so we don’t go wrong. They are brilliant listeners, pro-active, share ideas, and are working wonders for our search marketing. As well as the grassroots expertise you’d expect they also come with a raft of additional skills and insights which we benefit from. Highly recommend.” – Kathy Harvey, Concentra

Speech!

“This is another proud moment for our agency and team. It’s great to be recognised for such a prestigious industry award, especially during such a difficult and challenging year for everyone. But it’s an even greater honour to win awards that come directly from client feedback.

We’re especially delighted to see our work in Strategy recognised — we’ve made a clear decision to become a strategic agency that builds close partnerships with our clients as we help them forge their way into the digital-first economy of the future.

I’m also delighted to win the Grand Prix Award – one that speaks volumes about what our clients think of us and the work we do. Our colleagues are producing fantastic work every day for our clients and there is no greater feeling than seeing those efforts recognised with an award like this.” Julio Taylor, CEO

What’s next?

The Drum’s Festival is not over yet, and we have been nominated for another award The Drum Awards Agency Business: Independent Marketing Services Company of the Year 0-100 which will be announced tomorrow morning (Friday 23rd Oct), so we’re keeping our fingers crossed. We’re also really looking forward to what 2021 brings, and a little anxious about how could manage to beat our record ever again!

A virtual ceremony

This year The Drum Awards put on a virtual awards ceremony for us all to enjoy in the comfort of our own home, if you want to catch up on what you missed you can watch the video here, or if reading is more your style, see what The Drum Awards had to say about the evening in their announcement here.

What is a Local Citation? Local SEO

In simple SEO terms, a local citation refers to any mention of your company online. This could be in a business directory, or on an industry-specific site, a blog or any other local website. Although local citations can help you rank in local search results, they are no longer a major ranking factor . However, they are still worth considering in order to promote your business. Common citations you are likely to already know of include listings on business directory websites such as Yell or Thomson Local . A complete citation should include the name, address and phone number of your business. Local citations do not always include a link to your site although they are more valuable if they do. What do they do? Citations help rank your Google Local Pack listing (this was formerly called Google+ Local map) by providing Google with credible sources of information about your business. Citations tell Google that your business exists, is legitimate and that what you say about it is accur...

The beginner’s guide to semantic search: Examples and tools

Ever since Google’s Hummingbird, the term “semantic search” has been thrown around a lot. Yet, the concept is often misunderstood. What is semantic search and how it helps SEO efforts? When people speak to each other, they understand more than just words. They understand the context, non-verbal cues  (facial expressions, nuances of the voice, etc.) and so much more. It comes naturally, so we don’t really appreciate how difficult it is to explain what is being communicated without the help of all “beyond-words” signals. Factors that make the lives of both Google and SEO so difficult Google is trying (and often struggling) to understand what it is that their users want (without actually seeing or hearing them) SEOs are trying to reverse-engineer what it is that Google managed to understand from their users’ queries and how to build pages that meet those mysterious criteria. As Google’s algorithm is getting more mature, it is becoming even more difficult to decode what...
