Dunkin’ has announced the appointment of marketing veteran Rafael Acevedo to the position of Dunkin’ US chief marketing officer, effective immediately. Acevedo will report directly to Scott Murphy, head of the inspire beverage-snack category and president of Dunkin’, and will serve on the Dunkin’ leadership team.

Samsung Ads Europe has announced the appointment of Sinead Gilbody as European mobile development lead, a new role for the business as it looks to develop a mobile offering in Europe. Gilbody joins the Samsung Ads European team from Activision Blizzard, owners of King, the leading interactive entertainment company for the mobile world. She will be leading a team focused on building relationships with advertisers and brands across EU5 territories. In 2020, Samsung Ads in the US successfully launched its mobile inventory offering.

Pernod Ricard UK has appointed Leanne Banks to the position of marketing director to strategically lead its marketing and digital transformation, and drive value growth across the company’s premium spirits and wine portfolio. She replaces Raja Banerji, who is returning to Pernod Ricard India to the position of head of prestige portfolio.

As the travel industry navigates its next phase of recovery, Booking.com has announced the appointment of Laura Houldsworth as its new managing director and vice-president of the APAC region. She will drive business growth, strategy and operations for the region, with a strong focus on providing support to partners and value to customers.

Agencies

Interpublic Group (IPG) agency Golin has announced the appointment of Shouvik Prasanna Mukherjee to chief creative officer, Asia Pacific. In this newly-created role, Mukherjee will be championing Golin’s data-driven, earned-first creative ideas to inspire and create change for clients across the region.

Iris agency co-founder, Steve Bell, has been named new global chief executive officer. Bell is set to take the reins of global network with immediate effect. Bell previously held the role of European and North American chief executive, and for the last three years has acted as deputy global chief executive, reporting to co-founder and global chief exec Ian Millner.

Dentsu International has made a strategic senior global hire, with the appointment of Damien Lemaitre as global commerce director, Media, Dentsu International. Based out of Lyon, France, Lemaitre takes on the responsibility of driving and implementing enhanced commerce solutions for Dentsu clients worldwide through its scaled services offering and network of global media agencies; Carat, iProspect and Dentsu X.

Havas Media Group (HMG) has announced the appointment of Ben Downing as global managing director, ethical media and strategic partnerships. Based in London, he will report to global chief strategy officer Greg James. In this new role, Downing will support all markets in delivering against Havas’s Ethical Media Manifesto by further developing the agency’s best practices and products driving ethical investment. 

Ve Global, the tech provider for e-commerce marketers, has revealed that John Straw, digital entrepreneur and IT marketing expert, has joined its board as a non-executive director. Currently a senior advisor at McKinsey, Straw is also an early stage martech investor and founder of multiple technology startups with over 30 years of experience. He was also the chairman of Thomas Cook’s Digital Advisory Board, where he led the brand’s digital transformation.

MediaCom UK has tapped James Parnum as managing partner and head of planning, as it looks to deliver on its ‘Seeing the Bigger Picture’ vision. Parnum has over 15 years of media planning experience and has been at MediaCom since 2015, overseeing the Tesco Group account in helping transform the brand through successful long-term campaign planning. Under his leadership, the Tesco Group account won three Grands Prix in three years at Cannes Lions, Thinkbox and, most recently, IPA Effectiveness as well as Media Week & Campaign Media awards.

Organic, the entertainment communications agency that sits within Havas Entertainment, announced several significant new hires and promotions. Ryan Davies takes up the newly-created role of head of television, bringing with him over 15 years of experience working across the creative industries, seven of which were spent at Channel 4 Television where he was responsible for the strategy and execution of publicity campaigns across Channel 4’s scripted portfolio. Meanwhile across the pond, Kirsty Langsdale steps up to senior vice-president, global publicity, leading Organic’s international offering which straddles both film and television. Finally, Becky Palmer, who recently celebrated 10 years of service at the agency, has been promoted to head of film responsible for leading the UK film publicity business. Working closely with Palmer, Gill Littler will step up into the role of associate director and will oversee much of the agency’s digital and influencer-focused work.

Fluxx & MagneticNorth has appointed David Bailey as its executive creative director. Bailey aims to turbocharge Fluxx & MagneticNorth’s award-winning design capability, helping organizations take on new challenges and opportunities as they drive economic recovery in a post-pandemic world.
